About the Club

Mission Statement: The McGill Craniofacial Interest Group is an interdisciplinary interest group uniting, through common interests, students from both the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry at McGill. Craniofacial surgery is a specialty that treats congenital as well as acquired deformities of the head and neck. This field sits at the intersection of many medical and dental specialties including plastic surgery, orthodontics, otolaryngology, general dentistry, pediatrics, and maxillofacial surgery. This group will host events with various health professionals in order to gain a deeper understanding of this fascinating specialty. We will also hold events with craniofacial community organizations to learn about the patients’ perspectives and special considerations that should be made when treating patients with facial differences. Our events will provide students with the opportunity to learn about interdisciplinary collaboration in the care of patients with complex medical issues.
