Name: Ryan Kara

Role: Representing members in key meetings, overseeing governance activities, chairing councils, and ensuring alignment with the Strategic Plan.

While promoting transparency, supporting student initiatives, and facilitating communication between campuses.

Fun fact: I am on the McGill Rowing team!

Name: Matthew Jin

Role: As VP External Québec, I act as the bridge between the MSS and the FMEQ, ensuring that McGill students are well represented at the provincial level. I advocate for student interests and work alongside representatives from other Quebec medical schools to foster collaboration and amplify our collective voice.

Fun fact: I can’t picture things in my head – I have to see it visually!

Name: Amin Hasheminia

Role: Hey everyone! My name is Amin, and I’m thrilled to be your VP Ex-Canada this year.

My role focuses on communicating and strengthening our ties with CFMS and other Canadian medical student societies.

Fun fact: I am known as “Amin”o acid!

Name: Aissam Souidi

Role: As the Vice President – Global Health, I’m excited to bring the world a little closer to our med school by creating spaces where we can learn about health beyond borders, from global health challenges to inspiring local solutions. This year, I’ll be organizing events, building connections, and making sure global health feels both accessible and exciting for all of us.

Fun fact: I speak 5 languages, but still can’t roll my R’s!

Name: Michelle Bi

Role: As the VP Communications, my role is to maintain consistent release of communications across all MSS platforms, such as the Instagram and Facebook page.

In addition, I write and publish The Murmur newsletter and ensure the MSS website information is up to date.

Fun fact: I like buying random dresses I don’t need

Name: Max Yan

Role: I manage various tech platforms for the MSS, including the website you’re currently on! I help manage the elections, club funding, conference funding, and anything else involving digital services.

I also assist with event logistics and coordinating with the faculty to make sure the tech works.

Fun fact: I can fall asleep anywhere, and even standing up…

Name: Antony Khawam

Role: Facilitating and strengthening the MSS’s existing partnerships and forming relationships with new sponsors.

Serving as the vice-president and working on various projects with many council members.

Fun fact: The McGill’s hot dog cart hates to see me coming

Name: Gisèle Hounye

Role: Organize and schedule Board of Governor, Executive Council, and General Council meetings.

Organize MSS General assemblies and take meeting minutes.

Assist fellow council members.

Fun fact: I love to cook breakfast!

Name: Daniel Moses

Role: Create a budget that is adapted to the student body’s wishes and needs.

Meet with students to discuss funding of new initiatives.

Streamline finances for all MSS-associated entities.

Fun fact: I’m a singer for GarageMDs!

Name: Sofia Ferreira

Role: As VP Social, I help design and coordinate social events, from Frosh and Internos to new initiatives that make student life memorable. My role centers on creating inclusive and fun opportunities for students to unwind, connect, and feel at home in the MSS community.

Fun fact: I’ve traveled to 25 countries!

Name: Adam Mouncef

Role: I lead the Medical Students’ Society’s Government Affairs Committee, where I promote student engagement in health policy. In this capacity, I represent McGill at the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS) and the Fédération médicale étudiante du Québec (FMEQ). I also develop initiatives that raise awareness of pressing health policy issues and create opportunities for students to engage directly with policymakers.

Fun fact: I can tell you how good a café is within one sip of their espresso.

Name: Lixing Wang

Role: As the MD-PhD representative, my role is to represent the concerns and interests of MD-PhD students at the MSS General Council. I also serve as a consistent liaison, providing organized updates between the MSS and the MD-PhD student council.

Fun fact: I repeated one grade. 

Name: Fabienne Rousseau

Role: En tant que présidente exécutive, j’ai le privilège de soutenir à la fois l’ensemble du corps étudiant et les vice-présidences de la MSS. Originaire de la belle région de l’Outaouais, j’ai à cœur de porter la voix de notre campus au sein de la MSS et auprès de la Faculté de médecine. 

Fun fact: i’m an oldest daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter

Name: Pascale Parent

Role: As a dual role, I assist the Campus Outaouais President while also managing campus finances, coordinating the elections, and seeking out new sponsorships.

Fun fact: I can crochet pretty much anything — you might just have to wait five months for me to finish it.

Name: Lauren Drummond

Role: En tant que VP sociale, j’aide à concevoir et à coordonner des événements sociaux, comme le Frosh et l’évènement d’Halloween. Mon rôle consiste à créer des évènements inclusives et amusantes pour que les étudiants puissent se détendre et se sentir chez eux au sein du campus d’Outaouais de McGill et dans la communauté MSS.

Fun fact: I used to be the captain of the McGill women’s varsity rugby team

Name: Laurie Coutu-Godbout

Role: Act as the liaison between Campus Outaouais and external bodies such as the Fédération médicale étudiante du Québec (FMEQ) and the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS).

Fun fact: I am a big fan of gravel biking

Name: Angélie Duguay

Role: Mon rôle est d’enrichir l’expérience académique des étudiants tout au long de leurs études de médecine, en défendant leurs intérêts et en les représentant au sein du Comité de la Faculté. Je copréside également le Comité de l’éducation médicale (EdCom) avec le coprésident VPMedEd Montreal. 

Fun fact: On me connaît pour mettre du ketchup sur… un peu trop de choses.

Name: Megan Cott

Role: Comme VP Bien-être et Espaces Étudiants pour le campus Outaouais, mon objectif est de favoriser votre bien-être en organisant des activités, en partageant des stratégies de santé et en améliorant nos espaces sur le campus et dans nos centres cliniques.

Fun fact: I know how to play the oboe!

Role: Make student spaces comfier and more useful, especially the Annex.

Keep things clean, safe, and accessible.

Role: I act as the liaison between the MSS and the undergraduate student society at McGill, the SSMU! This includes attending the SSMU Legislative Council meetings and advocating for the needs of medical students on campus.

Role: As the Global Health Coordinator, I lead a team of officers and oversee global health initiatives that advocate for health equity. I will also foster collaboration between stakeholders, ensuring impactful programs and partnerships address global health challenges.

Role: En tant qu’ancienne présidente, j’apporte mon soutien à l’équipe de direction actuelle du MSS.

Je continue aussi à assurer la liaison entre les étudiants et le corps enseignant afin de garantir la continuité et la collaboration.

Fun fact: J’ai été capitaine de l’équipe de flag-football en med-p pour l’UQO et je n’avais jamais joué avant d’arriver à l’université !
