Responsable des affaires TI
Cindy Vasseur-Michel

3 points clés
- Modernize and maintain a reliable, accessible MSS Website
- Complete and strengthen the French version of the MSS Website
- Continue on‑site tech support for MSS Events
Dear members of the McGill Students’ Society,
My name is Cindy Vasseur‐Michel; I am a first-year medical student at McGill (Montreal campus), and I am applying for the position of Information Technologies Officer. I have a solid foundation in graphic design and a basic background in HTML and CSS programming, and I am eager to continue developing my technical skills. I also have experience in event media logistics through my work as Director of Events and VP Communications in various associations, where I coordinated visual materials, managed digital content, and supported technical needs during events. I am motivated to contribute these strengths to the MSS by improving our digital infrastructure, supporting student initiatives, and ensuring that our technological environment reflects the professionalism and inclusivity of our community.
If elected, I will focus on the following priorities:
- Modernize and Maintain a Reliable, Accessible MSS Website
I will ensure that the MSS website remains up‐to‐date, intuitive, and responsive to the needs of students and council members. This includes streamlining update requests, improving navigation, and implementing thoughtful design changes that enhance usability across all campuses. My goal is to maintain a platform that feels professional, current, and genuinely helpful for every student who relies on it. I will also oversee the smooth operation of the MSS election platform, ensuring transparent, user‐friendly, and error‐free elections throughout the year. - Complete and Strengthen the French Version of the MSS Website
Building on the work already started, I will prioritize translating the remaining pages and ensuring that the French version of the website is fully functional, accurate, and culturally respectful. This work is essential not only for compliance with Quebec language requirements, but also for representing and supporting francophone and Outaouais students. A bilingual MSS website is a matter of equity, visibility, and belonging, and I am committed to delivering a platform that reflects the linguistic diversity of our student body. - Enhanced On‐Site Tech Support for MSS Events
With hands‐on experience in event logistics and technical coordination, I will expand the IT Officer role to offer more structured and reliable tech support for MSS events in Montreal. Whether it involves ensuring smooth audiovisual setups, troubleshooting equipment, or optimizing the technological infrastructure of student areas, I will bring a proactive, service‐oriented approach that strengthens the quality and professionalism of MSS activities.
I am dedicated to serving the MSS with reliability, transparency, and a strong commitment to improving the student experience. Thank you for considering my candidacy.
Sincerely,

Max Yan

MSS Vice-President Finance
William Chow

3 key points
- Your money, your business. Clear and regular financial updates for the entire student body.
- One MSS, two campuses, zero disparity. Equitable funding between Montreal and
Outaouais. - Your ideas set the budget. Open meetings to shape how your fees are spent.
A bit about me: I’m a native Montrealer. I grew up in a bilingual household so bridging
communities across language and campus lines is something that comes naturally to me. Before med school, I worked in my school’s administration department where I managed the budget for our eco committee, raised funds to renovate the infrastructure, organized Talent Shows, and processed vendor payments. That experience taught me to be precise, thorough, and accountable when it comes to anything involving money.
But beyond the resume stuff, what really motivates me is people. I love getting to know my classmates, working on projects together, and making sure everyone feels like they have a say. I’ve always believed that the best financial decisions happen when they’re made collaboratively, not behind closed doors.
Here’s what I want to bring to this role:
- I want to make our finances transparent and easy to understand for everyone. You
shouldn’t need a finance or commerce degree to know where your student fees are
going. I’ll provide regular, clear updates so that every member of the MSS knows
how our money is being spent. - I’m committed to equitable resource distribution between our Montreal and
Outaouais campuses. Every student deserves access to the same quality of events
and support, regardless of where they’re based. I’ll work closely with representatives
from both campuses to make sure the budget reflects that. - I want to be a VP Finance who is genuinely accessible and collaborative. I’ll work alongside the executive council and student body to make sure our events and initiatives are not only fun and meaningful, but financially sound. My door will always be open for feedback, ideas, and questions.
I’d be honoured to serve as your VP Finance this year.
Please vote and thank you for your trust!

3 key points
- Efficient and Responsive Communication
Ensuring timely processing of reimbursement requests and clear guidance for students and clubs. - Structured and Accountable Financial Management
Maintaining organized, transparent, and reliable oversight of MSS finances. - Expansion of Student Funding Opportunities
Actively seeking new ways to increase support for students to attend conferences.
Funding empowers students. At the foundation of every project lies financial support, and MSS plays a critical role in providing this support to clubs, events, and individual students across all four cohorts. The position of VP Finance is therefore one that requires someone who is attentive,
reliable, and has a strong commitment to serving the needs of students.
My name is Daniel Moses, and I am running for MSS VP Finance because I am committed to
being that person.
I aim to provide efficient and responsive communication, recognizing that funding is often the first hurdle in bringing an idea to life. Clear, transparent processes are essential to ensuring that students and clubs can navigate funding with confidence and ease.
Organization is equally essential. Financial management requires structure and attention to detail. I approach my work with discipline and organization, and I will bring a structured and reliable system to this role, where all finances are accounted for and managed responsibly.
Finally, I am committed to growth. My goal is to explore creative ways to expand the funding available to students, particularly in helping students attend conferences. As not all conferences are held in Montreal, students must have the financial support to represent themselves and our community beyond our institution. Whether through sponsorships, partnerships, or new initiatives, I will actively seek ways to increase available funding.
Responsive. Reliable. Ready to support you.
Thank you for your consideration.

Candidate for MSS VP Finance
Med-4 Class Representative
Justin Matta

3 key points
- Organize a wide variety of events that represent the interests of the class and celebrate our final year of medical school, including the Med-4 Grad Ball and grad trips.
- Continue collaborating with other members of our class council (eg, treasurer) for
fundraising events to continue supporting an agenda that serves the class. - Ensure open communication platforms to understand the class’s needs and social
interests and represent and advocate for them at general council meetings.
Hey everyone!
I’m thrilled to be re-running for Class (Social) Representative as part of our council as we enter Med-4. Since Med-1, I have had the immense pleasure of serving on our council to help organize a variety of social events for our class. From Halloween apartment crawls to Cathcart’s 5 à 7, the end of FMD ball, and TCP boat cruise, we’ve been able to deliver a variety of events and experiences.
Throughout Med-4, my priorities will be to continue organizing events celebrating milestones and achievements (Med-4 GRAD BALL!), promoting cohesion and unity among our class, wellness activities, and fundraising events that are fun, engaging, and have something for everyone to enjoy.
I hope to accomplish these goals with the following:
- EVENT ORGANIZATION
As we embark on our final year of medical school, I’m excited to continue the traditions while expanding the scope of events that represent the diverse interests of our class, where everyone feels welcome and included, with elements for everyone. This includes the biggest event we’ve been looking forward to: GRAD BALL! Other fun ideas we would look into include organizing grad trips. - COMMUNICATION & COLLABORATION
Having various forms of communication in place is critical to ensuring that our events align with the class’s interests while continuously working towards improvement. I want to ensure our council remains open to connecting with the class to discuss any suggestions, ideas, or initiatives that our class council can support. Furthermore, I want to continue collaborating with the incoming council members (e.g., class treasurer) to support the organization of events that raise funds and increase our budget, and to organize as many diverse experiences and activities as possible in the interest of the class. - REPRESENTATION
Alongside the other members of our class council, I hope to capture our class’s needs, views, and social interests through various communication platforms, such as suggestion/ feedback forms, surveys, and direct messaging. Most importantly, ensuring that the interests are shared and advocated for accurately and effectively at general council meetings. Following these meetings, ensure active announcements to the class about updates that impact social events and activities.
At the end of the day, as we transition into the final year of medical school with so much to celebrate, my goal is to ensure we have activities and events that remain a space where we can actively relax, socialize, and enjoy our time together as the whole class of 2027.
Thank you and please feel free to connect with me at justin.matta@mail.mcgill.ca for any
questions or suggestions!
