About the Club
EIMC is a global initiative whose main objective is “to provide national leadership in promoting physical activity as a chronic disease prevention and management strategy to improve the health of Canadians” (EIMC mission statement). At McGill, the club is an interdisciplinary project run jointly by the faculties of Kinesiology and of Medicine, encompassing the schools of Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. The club aims to promote exercise on campus and in the community at large through student-led and organized activities and educational presentations. The club also aims at teaching and encouraging healthcare professionals to integrate counselling and prescription of physical activity in patient care.
