Positions Open to Montreal Campus
MSS Vice-President Social Affairs
Alexandra Larocque

3 key points
- Keep the favourites: events like Frosh, Internos, and MedLaw will stay – just with a fresh twist
- One MSS, two campuses: more accessible and collaborative events between Montreal and Outaouais
- A social scene that fits everyone: not everyone connects the same way, so we’ll plan events that span different interests, energies, and formats
Hey everyone! I’m Alex, a member of the Class of 2028, and I’m excited to run for VP Social Affairs. I’ve had the chance to organize student events and be a part of my student council in my previous program, and I’m looking forward to bringing that experience into the MSS community to help create a social calendar that’s inclusive, exciting, and memorable for all of us.
I want to keep the events that students really enjoy –like Frosh, Internos, and the MedLaw parties – while also finding new ways to make each one better than the last. My focus is on crafting experiences that are not only fun but help bring our community closer together across all years.
Another priority for me is building a stronger connection between the Montreal and Outaouais campuses. Whether it’s by making transportation easier, co-hosting events, or testing out new initiatives, I want everyone, no matter their campus, to feel part of the MSS community.
Finally, I believe social life means different things to different people, and it’s important to create a mix of events where everyone can feel like they belong. Whether it’s a themed party or a low-key hangout, there should always be space for students to unwind, connect, and be themselves.
Got something you’d love to see happen this year? Let’s make it happen – together.
Vote Alex for VP Social!

3 key points
- Bring back the hits: we want to keep the events you actually care about, like Frosh, Internos and MedLaw parties
- Two campuses, one student community: we want to make it easier for Outaouais students to join in, and work on creating events that connect both campuses
- Inclusive, meaningful social spaces for all: from big nights to smaller, quieter events, we want to create spaces where everyone can show up, feel comfortable, and have a good time!
Hi everyone! My name is Emma, a Class of 2028 student excited to bring fresh ideas and energy to the VP Social Affairs role. I have previously held a similar position during my master’s and am looking forward to building a social calendar for the MSS tht feels thoughtful, inclusive, and genuinely fun for everyone.
I want to keep the events you actually look forward to, but I’m not just pressing repeat. My focus is on planning experiences that not only brings students together but also creates moments that will stick with us throughout med school.
I’m also eager to continue strengthen the connection between the Montreal and Outaouais campuses. Whether that’s through joint events, better transportation or new ways to collaborate, I believe every student should feel equally included in the MSS community—no matter where they’re based.
And because I know “social” means different things to different people, I want to prioritize a wide range of events. From gatherings to larger celebrations, my goal is to offer something for all comfort levels and interests.
Got an idea for a social event? I’m all ears. Let’s make this year the best one yet—together.

Cassandra St-Roch

Three key points
- Celebrate our milestones: Organize unforgettable events like block parties, the FMD Ball, and a winter getaway to mark the highlights of Med-2.
- Stay connected through TCP: Plan fun and meaningful activities throughout the year to keep us united as we transition into TCP.
- Prioritize wellness + inclusion: Create spaces where everyone feels welcome, supported, and can decompress from the med school grind.
Hi everyone!
I’m Cassandra, and I am thrilled to run as your Med-2 Class Representative! As we head into the last stretch of FMD and prepare for TCP, I want to make sure our class makes the most of this incredible year, not just by surviving it, but by celebrating it.
My goal is to help create experiences that make Med-2 just as memorable as Med-1. That means block parties that bring us together after long weeks of studying, a winter getaway to recharge before the intensity of TCP, and an FMD Ball that lets us toast to everything we’ve accomplished. But it’s not just about big events, we also want to keep our class connected with fun, low-pressure activities throughout the year so that even as we branch off into different streams, we stay connected as one strong, supportive community.
I’m committed to making sure everyone feels welcome and heard, and to planning events that reflect the diverse interests of our class. I want Med-2 to be a year we’ll all cherish, and I can’t wait to have your support in making it truly special!
Thank you so much, and I can’t wait to make this an amazing year with all of you!
Stefanie Kouzas

Three key points
- Celebrate key moments: Coordinate major events such as the FMD Ball, winter retreat, and block parties to mark and honour our Med-2 journey.
- Promote ongoing connection: Maintain class unity during the transition into TCP with relaxing, inclusive, and engaging social initiatives.
- Uphold inclusion and wellness: Create welcoming, diverse spaces that prioritize student wellbeing and foster a supportive community.
Hi everyone!
My name is Stefanie, and I am excited to be running as your Med-2 Class Representative! As we approach the end of FMD and transition into TCP, I hope to make this upcoming year one that is not only academically rewarding, but socially meaningful as well.
My objective is to foster a strong sense of community by organizing events that allow us to come together, celebrate our milestones, and create lasting memories. From a winter retreat to an unforgettable FMD Ball, and casual gatherings throughout the year, I aim to offer a balance of larger celebrations and accessible, relaxed activities that accommodate our demanding schedules.
Above all, I am committed to ensuring that every student feels welcome, included, and represented. I want our social spaces to reflect the diversity of our class and provide opportunities for connection, relaxation, and fun amidst the intensity of medical school.
Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to the opportunity to help make our Med-2 year exceptional.
Med-2 Class Treasurer
Yacine Bennaceur

3 key points
- I’ll fund our core events and study tools, hunting down group discounts so we never pay full price.
- I’ll save money for our social events and bring in sponsors or faculty if we need extra cash.
- I’ll coordinate Patagonia and Columbia jacket sales at the best prices so we all save.
Hey everyone!
I’m Ahmed Yacine Bennaceur, and I’m running to be your Med‑2 Montréal Class Treasurer. I like numbers, I dislike loose ends, and I want our money to work for all of us.
My first priority is making sure we have enough cash for what matters most to us. On the academic side, I’ll ensure our core events and learning activities are fully funded. I’ll also secure group discounts on study tools and other extras so we never pay full price. For our social life, I will protect funds for the events that bring us together. When extra money is needed, I will secure long‑lasting sponsors and seek faculty support instead of passing costs on to the class.
I will also bring back the Patagonia and Columbia jacket sale. It’s tougher to arrange these days, but I will work with the reps and hit the minimums so we can enjoy the gear and the savings.
Vote for me, and your wallet will thank me later.
Med-3 Class Representative
Sepi Mortazavi

3 key points
- Engaging & Inclusive Events: I am committed to organizing meaningful events that bring us together and offer a break from the intensity of clerkship.
- Representation & Collaboration: I’ll advocate for our class at General Council and work closely with the rest of the Med-3 Council to support our shared goals
- Clear Communication: I’ll prioritize transparency, keep everyone informed, and welcome feedback to guide decisions that reflect our class’s needs.
Hi everyone,
I’m super excited to be running for Med-3 Class Rep, bringing experience, reliability, and collaboration to this role. As one of two VP Social Affairs this past year, I’ve had the opportunity to plan and execute events like Frosh, Med x Law socials, and Internos. These experiences have taught me how to coordinate complex events, work across teams, and create spaces where everyone feels welcome. I’ve also found that helping build community-especially in the midst of a busy program-is one of the most fulfilling parts of being involved on council.
I would love to continue doing that within our Class of 2027 cohort, guided by the following goals:
- Engaging & Inclusive Events: Clerkship is demanding- we deserve events that genuinely help us decompress and reconnect. I’ll plan thoughtful, inclusive events that celebrate our milestones and reflect the diverse interests of our class, building on what’s worked and always staying open to new ideas.
- Representation & Collaboration: I’ll advocate for our class at General Council and work closely with the Med-3 Council to support initiatives that matter to us. I also want to explore opportunities for collaborative events, fundraising, and new traditions that reflect this next stage of our journey.
- Clear Communication: I’ll keep our class informed, welcome feedback through social platforms, Google Forms, or in person, and work transparently so decisions reflect our needs. Your voice will always be part of the conversation.
As we step into clerkship, I’m committed to helping make this next chapter as connected, celebratory, and supportive as possible. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out on Facebook (Sepi Moj) or via email: Sepinood.mortazavi@mail.mcgill.ca.
Student Spaces Officer
Holly Markomanolaki

3 key points
- Updating the facilities for better event organization and entertainment with video games, sound/stage equipment, and a fully functional kitchen for self-catering.
- Development of the conference room and common areas with collective interior design projects for a stylish and welcoming space for students and their guests at the Annex.
- Launching HappeningAtTheAnnex, a social media account to keep students in the loop and boost engagement for any decorating events or club gatherings happening at the Annex.
I’m Holly, and I am so excited to be running for Student Space Officer! In this role, I would be responsible for the development, maintenance, and management of booking at the Lady Meredith Annex. A big part of encouraging a vibrant student life requires easy and affordable access to gathering spaces that can cater to anything from club events to chill hangouts with friends. I have a lot of experience with event planning and venue management. Since CEGEP, I have helped organize multiple successful events, such as politician meet-and-greets, the Med-P Fashion Show, multiple student workshops with the HOP club, and a future talent show with the MUSIC club that is in the works! I know it can be challenging to have food, entertainment, proper show equipment, and a good vibe for a fair price at a single location. We are so fortunate as medical students to have the Annex available to us at any time, and I would love to see it become our true venue of choice!
I want the Annex to be an entertainment hub that adds fun to your schedule. I plan on developing an updated library of video games for all to use. I would like to maintain and upgrade the sound equipment available in the Meredith Annex to accommodate performing arts events of any kind. I know catering can be a costly part of organizing events, which is why I want to make sure the kitchen equipment is updated and expansive enough for students to be able to cook for themselves and any guests. The Annex is a space that has so much potential for collective interior design projects and decorating. Interior design is one of my passions, which is made evident by my love for the Sims and Pinterest… By collaborating with clubs and launching decorative initiatives like displaying student art and thrift hunts for cute décor, I know we can turn the Annex into a place we are proud to show off! I also plan on running a social media account for the Annex where development projects and upcoming events will be posted to keep students in the loop, while gaining constant feedback for maintenance purposes.
Gaming with buddies, sound equipment for awesome jams, a kitchen fit for DIY culinary adventures, and a beautiful, creative space for all to enjoy; this is my vision for the Meredith Annex as Student Space Officer. If you share this vision, please consider voting for me in this upcoming MSS Spring Election. Thank you!
James Meterissian

3 key points
- Improve student spaces – Make the Lady Meredith Annex and Wellness Room more comfortable, functional, and inviting for all medical students.
- Ensure accessibility and upkeep – Maintain clean, safe, and accessible spaces through proper management and regular upkeep.
- Act as a liaison for all med student spaces – Represent student needs in the oversight and development of all MSS-affiliated spaces, including the Annex and Wellness Room.
Hello,
My name is James Meterissian, and I’m a first-year medical student at McGill. I’m excited to submit my platform for the position of Student Space Officer in the MSS. Please find it below.
As an advocate for wellness and work-life balance, I’m excited to run for the position of Student Space Officer. I believe the Lady Meredith Annex (and all medical student spaces) should be more than just functional areas; they should be places where we feel comfortable, supported, and at home.
As someone who spends a lot of time at the Annex (whether studying, relaxing, or rehearsing with the Garage MDs band) I’ve gotten to know the space well and have seen firsthand what’s working and what could be improved. From inconsistent access hours to worn-out couches, outdated appliances, and the need for a more thorough and regular cleaning routine, I know there are real opportunities to enhance the Annex and make it more inviting and usable for everyone.
If elected, I will take an active role in overseeing, managing, and developing the Lady Meredith Annex and the Wellness Room, as well as acting as a liaison for all medical student spaces. I want to help create environments where students can study, relax, or connect with others, all while ensuring these spaces are clean, safe, accessible, and well maintained.
I’m especially interested in improving the Lady Meredith Annex to better reflect the needs of our student body. Whether it’s upgrading furniture, adding small comforts, or streamlining the room booking system, I’m committed to helping our shared spaces reach their full potential.
Thank you for your consideration!

Positions Open to Gatineau Campus
Outaouais University Representative
Franciska Otaner

Positions Open to Both Campuses
MSS Vice President Internal Affairs
Nik Jaiswal

3 key points
- Transparent and accountable advocacy
- Prioritizing YOUR voice and concerns
- Reachable and available, even for the “little” things
No gimmicks. No slogans. Just advocacy.
Even without an elected position, I’ve successfully moved lectures out of Strathcona due to disruptive construction, promptly communicated student concerns to block leaders, shared their responses transparently, and advocated fiercely for fair policies, pushing back against administration when needed.
Honesty and realism guide my approach—I believe in straightforward, transparent representation. My commitment is simple: to ensure your voice is heard and respected.
I’m reachable, approachable, and unafraid to advocate for student concerns, no matter how big or small.
I’m here to listen, act, and ensure our internal processes truly reflect your priorities. I won’t rely on empty promises—my focus is solely on meaningful, consistent action and advocacy.
Whether I win the election for VP Internal or not, in my role as one of your peers, I’ll continue to fight for you.
Sienna Allan

3 key points
- Streamline MMS Club Systems and Support Student Initiatives. As VP internal, I’ll offer clear guidance and build tools to help club leaders succeed. Whether you’re starting something new or growing a long-standing club, you’ll have the support you need to make your vision a reality.
- Transparent, student-centered communication that keeps you in the loop. Students deserve to be informed and involved. I’ll ensure clear, regular communication across platforms so you always know what’s going on at McGill and beyond. Communication shouldn’t be one way, which is why I want to launch a platform so you can speak up and stay engaged.
- Celebrate diversity and support balance. I will integrate cultural holidays in our MSS calendar and work closely with our VP Wellness to promote balance and support mental health. Inclusion and well-being will be part of every decision.
Hi everyone! My name is Sienna Allan, and I’m excited to present my candidacy to be your next Vice-President Internal Affairs.
If there’s one thing that drives me, it’s building community through connection.
Whether I’m coaching on the ski hill, participating in sports events, leading student initiatives or working alongside classmates, I’ve always gravitated toward roles that bring people together. As Vice-President Academics of my student association last year and an ambassador for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, teamwork and community are at the heart of everything I do.
I believe the strength of our MSS lies in how we communicate, support one another and celebrate what makes student life vibrant. And it’s what I’m excited and more than ready to take on.
If I am elected, I will:
1. Empower clubs to thrive with better support and guidance
Clubs are the heartbeat of our student life. But creating or running one shouldn’t be overwhelming. As your VP internal, I will make it easier for clubs to thrive by amplifying student-led initiatives so that every project is seen and supported.
2. Make MSS communications clear, accessible and student-centered
As VP internal, I will ensure that important updates actually reach you. Empowering you starts by making you aware and informed. I want to create a platform where you can share your input, anonymously or not.
3. Champion inclusion and representation beyond academics
Being VP internal isn’t just about logistics – it’s about inclusion. Right now, our calendar doesn’t include cultural events and holidays. I’m here to change that – because community starts with recognition and representation.
4. Balance beyond the books
We’re people with lives, passions and needs outside medical school. I’ll work closely with our VP wellness to foster a culture that promotes balance and supports mental health.
5. Keep you informed locally, provincially and nationally
The MSS moves fast – but so does the CFMS and FMEQ. I will work closely with both VP externals (Quebec and Canada), to provide clear, monthly updates so you’re aware of decisions and discussions beyond McGill.
Vote Sienna Allan for VP internal. Let’s build community from the inside out.
IT Officer
Max Yan

3 key points
- I will regularly work with MSS, the Faculty of Medicine, and clubs to ensure on-campus and online events run smoothly.
- Communicate with MSS and the faculty to update about tech issues and introduce new ideas and setups for improving student spaces.
- Maintain any and all MSS platforms such as the website.
Hi everyone, I’m Max, and I’m eager to announce my candidacy for IT Officer.
My job will be simple – to make sure that you have an easier time with technology to make sure your plans go according to plan. I also hope to work with the MSS team and the faculty to update our student spaces and introduce new ideas.
Apart from managing the website and working with the rest of the MSS team, I will keep the tech in student spaces running smoothly. You will often find me in Martin or the Annex fiddling with the projectors before small groups or before events to get things working. I also aim to expand the calendar on the website and integrate it in our communications. You will be able to advertise events and plan your schedule with even more ease!
Lastly, your opinions matter. I will keep an open line of communication that any student can use to anonymously raise concerns and feedback. As the IT officer, I will be working with everyone in MSS – which gives me a LOT of chances to open discussions. I look forward to hearing from you all!
