MSS Chronic Diseases (MCD)

Club week video

About the club

The main purpose of MSS Chronic Diseases is to offer more exposure to first-year and second-year medical students regarding the patient perspective and experience with a chronic disease. We believe that before you can begin approaching medicine as a doctor, we should first try to approach it as the patient. In other words, we want to step into the shoes of a patient with a chronic disease and learn more about how they have approached life with their condition in order to gain insight into how it can affect someone’s life physically, mentally, and even socially. This experience complements the theoretical information that pre-clinical medical students receive, thus improving upon our medical education.
