McGill Students’ Chapter of Coeurs en Visite

About the club

Our mission is to combat loneliness and isolation among hospitalized adults and children by providing warm visits and engaging activities. We strive to raise awareness among students at McGill but also in institutions such as the University of Montreal, and CEGEPs like Brébeuf about the emotional challenges many patients face during their hospital stays.

Through this initiative, students have the opportunity to volunteer by organizing friendly visits and activities in hospital wards, fostering meaningful connections with patients and creating a more comforting environment. By working closely with hospital staff and healthcare institutions, we ensure that our efforts are both impactful and sensitive to the needs of patients.

In addition to providing direct support, our project aims to cultivate empathy and community engagement among students, helping them develop a deeper understanding of the importance of social support in healthcare settings. With over 50 hospitals and long-term care facilities (CHSLDs) as partners, we continue to expand our reach and strengthen our impact.

Ultimately, our goal is to create a supportive network that enhances the well-being of hospitalized individuals while offering students a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to their communities. Together, we can make a difference, one visit at a time.
